Crown Castle and One 2 One Sign $160 Million Contract to Roll Out Mobile Network in Northern Ireland
Crown Castle will provide a turnkey solution for One 2 One, including all cell planning, acquisition, design, build, operation and maintenance for the mobile network. The agreement will run for an initial term of eleven years.
Crown Castle already operates approximately 100 tower sites in Northern Ireland and these sites will provide the backbone for the new network. This will significantly reduce the need for new build, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring faster roll out of the network. Many of the towers will also be used by other operators, helping to control the proliferation of new sites in Northern Ireland. The project will be managed from an existing Crown Castle team base in Lisnagarvey, near Belfast.
One 2 One is the worlds first all digital mobile network and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.
